#YES these two say they don’t want to be saved but when it comes to people they love they would do anything to keep them alive #no matter what these people would want or say they want #keeping them safe is the most important #elena wants to save damon despite their plans about killing the originals being ruined if they do so #damon wouldn’t let her risk her life because of any plans about killing ~the big evil #they don’t mind being the bad guys if that means protecting the ones they love #elena in season two never asked anyone if they wanted her to save them or not #she just did what she thought she has to do #she compelled jeremy twice without asking what he thought about that because that means he stays alive #estranged is bad #dead is worse #when she asks damon to compell jeremy yes she feels bad about it #BUT she says THANK YOU i don’t know what i would do if you weren’t here #she feels bad about jeremy but she accepts she knows she has to protect him #THIS is human #safety is the priority
